It is natural for every woman to want to look good. Whereas some women don’t have to struggle to look hot, there are others who might have to make efforts to look sizzling. But sometimes, the effort goes overboard and the result is a look that screams out aloud that you are trying too hard.
So what’s the difference between Hot and trying too hard?
It’s a thin line that you must walk carefully. Tasteful makeup, a string top and well fitting pair of jeans is Hot. But the same makeup with an overdose of mascara, loud lipstick and garish eye shadow teemed with very low neckline shirt top and a low waist jeans showing off your not flat tummy can come across as trying too hard. The idea is to be careful about teeming up the right things the right way and going to the right extent.
The idea is also to be confident and comfortable in whatever you wear and wearing the appropriate rig depending on weather, place, surroundings and occasion.
Here are some tips to help you avoid the “trying too hard” tag:
• Wear clothes that suit your body type and accentuate your assets
Showoff what is great and downplay what may not be great. For example, if you don’t have a toned stomach, don’t wear low waist jeans teemed with short top that shows off your not so cool stomach. If you have arms with loose hanging skin then avoid sleeveless tops. If you have a well-sculpted figure, show it off by wearing dresses and figure hugging tee backs and halters but don’t go overboard with those necklines or bare backs. T-shirts of the right size with short sleeves can look great on almost anyone. You can choose from funky ones to normal ones as per the need.
• Be confident and sure of yourself
Remember that what makes you hot is your attitude and not your clothes or accessories. A confident babe comfortable with her body and sure of her charm can look hot in simple rags also. It’s the way you carry yourself and how you wear your stuff that is more important than what that stuff is.
• Avoid clothes that make you feel conscious
Do not keep pulling on your short skirt and don’t finger those strings of your halter constantly. If these clothes are making you feel conscious then don’t wear them. Wear clothes that you are confident and comfortable in. Constant fingering and adjusting of your clothes gives the vibe that you have worn clothes that you usually don’t in an attempt to look hot. A definite trying too hard symptom!
• Wear clothes appropriate for the weather and the place
If you wear stringy sleeveless clothes on a wintry evening and keep on shivering then you are bound to come across as looking for attention. If you wear leather boots with a short skirt and a shrug to a casual coffee shop then obviously all will look up at you and stare. Remember, less does not always mean sexy. You can be totally covered and still look HOT. The secret is in wearing the colours that suit you and in sporting flattering cuts and well fitting clothes. Mix and match your stuff for a cool, relaxed attitude look.
• Learn the art of make up
Make up gone wrong can make you look really disastrous. Learn what shades suit you skin colour and what part needs more highlighting. You could play up your eyes and go easy on your lips or vice versa.
• Don’t ape Bollywood styles mindlessly
What suits someone on the screen may not suit you at all. So don’t get into mindless copying but go for what flatters your body and personality.
The unwritten rule is to dress up elegantly and gracefully and carry it off with confidence. Anything worn with an attitude and a sense of timing will for sure make you hot. Sizzle on with style!
