It's not only men who enjoy chasing women. Women enjoy being chased too. If the woman you are interested in is definitely single, but is giving you a rather long run almost leaving you feeling hopeless, the first thing you must do is analyse her actions. Here are likely reasons for her mirage like behaviour.

1. She doesn't want to seem too available
If she jumped up and came to you on your first invitation and slept with you soon enough, you are likely to lose interest in her because the challenge would seem over even before it has begun. She understands this universal law and does not want to come across as an easy lay; which is why she will tell you she is not free for a date when all she will do is sulk alone and watch TV.

2. She doesn't trust you yet
Men usually decide to be in a relationship with a woman they fall for rather quickly, though they don't easily get committed to the relationship. To begin with, they don't ponder about "what if I meet someone more apt later?" and "what if she's not really my type?" On the other hand, women get devoted to a relationship completely and find it difficult to snap out of it too easily. Which is why, before a woman gets into a relationship she asks herself too many questions to ensure that this is her Mr. Right indeed. So, give the girl time, win her trust and she will walk into your arms sure enough.

3. She is heightening curiosity and desire
Men love mysterious women and women know that. If your love interest told you all about her friends, her quirks and her favourite hangouts, you will have nothing to wonder about her. So instead, she keeps you guessing by not telling you what she does on weekends. And when she turns you down for a Saturday dinner date and says maybe some other time, it does not mean that she's not interested (or she wouldn't say some other time), it is simply to leave you craving more for her.

4. She wants to test how badly you want her
She wants to see how desperately you want her and how much you are willing to struggle to get her. This will give her an idea of how crazy about her you will remain once you get her. This behaviour of hers stems from the self-realization that she is a prized catch and deserves princess like treatment.

5. You are not her Mr. Right
If a woman has refused to meet you more than twice and has given feeble excuses for the same without the possibility of a future date, she's not playing hard to get; she's simply not interested in you. Forget about her. Love must be waiting for you elsewhere.
